From helping brands sell power tools to helping animals find their forever homes - here's my journey so far.
I started out as a junior copywriter working on brands like Canada Post, Rogers Communications, and Home Depot. But something was missing in the work. So when I saw a posting for “content writer” at Toronto Humane Society, I jumped at the opportunity.
I wrote everything that needed to be written. Internal newsletters, external newsletters, donor communications, oh, and of course – animal adoption profiles. These animal “bios” gave me the opportunity to pour my creative energies into promoting each animal, bringing their story to life, and finding them the perfect home. They also got me hooked on the power of persuasive storytelling.
From content writer I was promoted to fundraising “storyteller”. Here, my creative talents were used to direct the look, the feel, and the written content of Toronto Humane Society’s fundraising across all mediums.
I’m ready for my next challenge.
